What are the steps of the IVF long-term plan?

Detailed description of the steps of the standard long-term IVF plan

First of all, we need to understand what the long-term plan is, which is a process of using small doses of drugs to stimulate the ovaries. It originated from the "pituitary downregulation" technology that came out in the mid-1980s and is an ovulation-inducing plan that is currently more popular abroad.

The long-term plan usually starts on the 21st day of the last menstrual period.

As its name suggests, the long plan inducing ovulation takes a longer time. The standard long plan usually starts inducing ovulation on the 21st day of the last menstrual cycle, and then in the next menstrual cycle, starts inducing ovulation on the 2nd-3rd day of the menstrual period. This is one of the differences between the long plan and the short plan. The latter does not need to start one menstrual cycle in advance.

In addition, long-term plans are divided into high-efficiency long-term plans and short-acting long-term plans. Relatively speaking, the short-acting one will have a shorter time for ovulation induction. In clinical medicine, since each person's bilateral fallopian tubes, age, uterus and ovaries are different, the plans are also different.

Long-term plans start with a month of emergency contraception

The actual steps of the long-term plan are to take emergency contraception for one month first, start using GnRHa drugs on the 21st day of the last menstrual cycle (called the late progesterone phase), start using ovulation-inducing drugs on the 10th day of GnRHa use, which is the 3rd day of this menstrual period, and then observe the development of the uterus under B-ultrasound. Once the uterus is fully developed, inject the egg-breaking needle on the same day to perform the egg retrieval operation.
