A 68-year-old man suddenly had an increase in leucorrhea

For women, menstruation will occur after the sexual reproductive system matures, accompanied by secretions such as leucorrhea, but leucorrhea will still be secreted even after menopause. Therefore, in many cases, whether leucorrhea is normal or not is one of the criteria for whether the female reproductive system is healthy. Generally speaking, women's leucorrhea is mostly transparent, colorless and odorless secretions. If the leucorrhea increases, turns yellow or even green, and has an odor, it means there is a problem with the reproductive system. If a 68-year-old suddenly has an increase in vaginal discharge, this is largely the reason.

Common abnormal leucorrhea includes the following:

1. Watery yellow leucorrhea: Watery, yellow leucorrhea may be a symptom of uterine cancer or fallopian tube cancer.

2. Foamy yellow leucorrhea: Normal leucorrhea should be slightly sticky, but this abnormal leucorrhea is thin yellow, yellow purulent liquid, often accompanied by a fishy smell and vulvar itching, which is mostly caused by Trichomonas vaginitis;

3. Curd-like leucorrhea: This type of leucorrhea caused by candidal vaginitis is often curd-like or tofu-like, white and sticky, and accompanied by symptoms of vulvar itching;

4. Bloody leucorrhea: If there is oily blood in the leucorrhea, it may be a symptom of cervical erosion, cervical cancer or uterine fibroids, etc., and you need to pay special attention to it.

5. Purulent leucorrhea: It is yellow or yellow-green, thick and has a foul odor. This type of abnormal leucorrhea is mostly caused by inflammation such as vaginitis and cervicitis.

The female vagina has the function of self-regulating leucorrhea. If abnormal leucorrhea occurs, you can observe it for a few days. If the situation does not improve and other discomforts occur, you should seek medical treatment in time.

Leucorrhea is a normal vaginal discharge in women. If the secretion is excessive, it will cause a series of symptoms.

Excessive leucorrhea is one of the most common symptom in gynecological clinic, which refers to the increase of vaginal secretions.

Many people seek medical attention due to excessive vaginal discharge. However, sensitivity to leucorrhea varies greatly from person to person. Some women have a lot of leucorrhea but do not feel any discomfort, while others, although their reproductive tract secretions are normal or only slightly increased, often have a wet feeling in the vulva and feel confused and uncomfortable, so they are eager to seek treatment. This is related to one's personality, social status and cultural level. In fact, all healthy women under the influence of estrogen have reproductive tract discharge, commonly known as leucorrhea, which should not be understood as a pathology. Among the patients who complain of increased leucorrhea, some have physiological leucorrhea, normal cervical fluid, or normal exfoliation of vaginal epithelial cells. Therefore, for patients with increased leucorrhea, we should first distinguish whether it is physiological or pathological leucorrhea.

Common symptoms of irregular menstruation

1. Menstruation comes early.

Early menstruation refers to a shortened menstrual cycle that is shorter than 21 days and occurs for more than 2 consecutive cycles. It is a biphasic basal body temperature condition of ovulatory functional uterine bleeding. The follicular phase will be short, only 7 to 8 days, or the luteal phase will be shorter than 10 days, or the body temperature will rise by less than 0.5℃.

2. Delayed menstruation.

Menstruation is delayed for more than 7 days, or even every 40 to 50 days, and occurs for more than two consecutive menstrual cycles. For those who ovulate, the basal body temperature is biphasic, but the follicular phase is long and the high temperature phase is low; for those who do not ovulate, the basal body temperature is monophasic.

3. The menstrual period will be prolonged.

The menstrual cycle is normal, the menstrual period is prolonged, the menstrual period exceeds 7 days, or even lasts for 2 weeks. People with inflammation usually have lower abdominal pain, which worsens during menstruation. They also have a lot of leucorrhea, which is yellow or yellow-white, thick, and has an odor.

4. Menstrual disorders and irregular menstruation.

Menstruation may be early or late, and the cycle may be shorter than 21 days or longer than 35 days.
