Traditional Chinese medicine has a long history in my country, and cupping is one of the common TCM treatments. In fact, many diseases in life can be relieved by cupping, but cupping must not be performed casually, because different diseases require cupping in different areas. Some people experience itchy skin after cupping. Why is this? Why does my skin itch after cupping? Itching in the area after cupping indicates the presence of wind-cold and dampness. Pain followed by itching indicates that there is fire poison in the body. This is a normal reaction of the disease. There is no need to panic. It is an inevitable phenomenon for the pathogen to be expelled. Continuous treatment for a period of time, the reaction will disappear naturally. It usually won't take long, sometimes 1-2 days, and some serious cases may need about 1-2 weeks. Common methods of cupping: 1. Can retention method: refers to the method of adsorbing the can at the corresponding position and retaining it for a certain period of time. This method is suitable for treating rheumatism, cold and cough, stomachache, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea and other diseases. 2. Flash cupping: It means that after the cup is adsorbed to the corresponding position, one hand presses the skin and the other hand holds the cup body to quickly pull it off. Repeat this process several times until the skin becomes flushed, congested or bruised. This method is suitable for treating local skin numbness, pain and other symptoms. 3. Cupping method: When cupping, first apply a layer of Vaseline oil on the skin of the area to be cupped, and then cupping. Then, the doctor holds the jar in his hand and pushes it up and down or left and right on the area coated with vaseline. When the skin at the extraction site becomes red, congested, or even bruised, remove the cup. This method is suitable for treating diseases in areas with thick muscles and flat skin, such as soreness, numbness, rheumatism and pain in the back, waist, hips, thighs, etc. 4. Blood-pricking and cupping: After disinfecting the skin, prick it with a three-edged needle to cause bleeding or tap it with a skin needle, and then cupping is performed to enhance the effect of blood-pricking therapy. This method is often used to treat erysipelas, sprains, mastitis and other diseases. |
