What happens if I don't have my period?

Irregular menstruation is a problem that many women will face. If you miss your period, the first thing we should consider is whether you are pregnant. For women who have sex, it is very normal not to have your period if you are pregnant, and there is no need to panic. If the irregular menstruation is caused by other reasons, you should go to the hospital to check the real cause of the disease, take timely medication and conditioning, and avoid other problems in your body.

Taking some medications can cause amenorrhea, such as contraceptives, weight-loss pills, drainage drugs, etc., which can cause endocrine disorders in women, thereby affecting menstruation and causing amenorrhea. By taking birth control pills, women's ovulation is inhibited, thereby interfering with the combination of egg and sperm and achieving the purpose of contraception. However, if you take too many birth control pills, the drug ingredients will affect the ovaries' secretion of estrogen, and the endometrium will not grow normally, resulting in a thin endometrium, which will lead to a decrease in menstrual flow or even amenorrhea.

The surgery will affect menstruation. For example, intrauterine surgery may cause cervical adhesion, resulting in menstrual blood stasis in the uterus, and symptoms of amenorrhea and delayed menstruation. Abortion surgeries generally include negative pressure aspiration and forceps curettage. If the curettage is performed improperly, it can easily cause damage to the cervix, or damage the basement membrane of the endometrium, causing adhesions of the internal os of the cervix, or partial adhesions of the uterine wall, leading to amenorrhea. After ovarian cyst surgery, the uterus and ovaries need some time to recover. Some women resume menstruation one month after the surgery.

There are also some symptoms of amenorrhea caused by other reasons, such as high stress in life, or severe physical and mental stimulation. Amenorrhea caused by this reason should be paid special attention, because if the psychological problems are not solved in time, it may cause damage to the functions of other organs. So for female friends, don’t put too much mental pressure on yourself.
