What is the cause of amenorrhea in girls?

Girls can also experience amenorrhea. Many people think that women will experience amenorrhea only after they get older. Amenorrhea is one of the harms that cause women's health problems. If a girl has amenorrhea, many people are more concerned about what this symptom is. Amenorrhea is also a disease that will increase the burden on the body. After amenorrhea, it means that menstruation has become abnormal. So what are the above reasons for amenorrhea in girls?

The causes of amenorrhea can be divided into five categories based on the physiological process of menstruation:

(1) Uterine reasons. Also called uterine amenorrhea. Amenorrhea is caused by problems with the uterus, such as congenital absence of the uterus, uterine hypoplasia, or childhood diseases involving the endometrium, resulting in adhesions or scars. Although the ovaries function well and female characteristics develop normally, menstruation does not occur. Diseases caused after menarche, such as endometrial tuberculosis, endometrial schistosomiasis, endometrial suppuration, or scraping off the basal layer of the endometrium during curettage, can not respond to ovarian hormones and cause secondary amenorrhea.

(2) Ovarian causes. Also called ovarian amenorrhea. Normal menstruation occurs when hormones secreted by the ovaries act on the endometrium, causing it to change, then fall off and bleed. If the ovaries cannot secrete hormones, the endometrium will not change and menstruation will stop naturally, such as congenital ovarian dysplasia, premature ovarian failure, etc. Amenorrhea caused by this reason is often accompanied by underdeveloped or degenerated female characteristics, such as equalization of the breasts.

(3) Pituitary causes It is called pituitary amenorrhea. The pituitary gland is located below the brain. It is very small in size, but it controls the endocrine organs throughout the body. When the pituitary gland function changes, the ovarian function decreases. Common pituitary diseases are tumors and hypopituitarism.

(4) Central nervous system causes. The central nervous system includes the brain and hypothalamus, which control the activities of the pituitary gland and indirectly control ovarian function. When the central nervous system is stimulated, changes in ovarian function cause amenorrhea. Amenorrhea can occur suddenly when you suffer from a broken heart, the loss of a loved one, or failure at work. It can also be caused by a hypothalamic tumor.

These are the reasons for amenorrhea in teenage girls. These reasons are the main factors determining our treatment of the disease. If we control these reasons first when treating the disease, the effect of improving the disease will be the most obvious. Amenorrhea in teenage girls is also something worthy of attention. Most teenage girls refer to girls without children. If amenorrhea in teenage girls is not strictly treated, infertility will occur in the future.
