Purpose: To check for uterine tumors, endometriosis, uterine malformations, ovarian tumors, pelvic inflammatory masses or abscesses, etc.

Operation process: The person being examined pulls down his pants to expose his lower abdomen, and the examiner places the B-ultrasound probe on the lower abdomen to observe the situation inside the pelvic cavity.

Not suitable for people: pregnant women in the first 3 months of pregnancy, the elderly and people with urinary incontinence.

Note:

1. Your lower abdomen needs to be exposed during the examination, so it is best to wear pants or a skirt to make it easier to take off your clothes.

2. You need to drink about 1000 ml of water half an hour to one hour before the examination, and hold your urine as much as possible. Because only when the bladder is full to a certain extent can the uterus be squeezed from the deep pelvic cavity to the lower abdomen, and the uterus and ovaries can be observed by B-ultrasound. So it is best to carry a water bottle with you to refill it in time.

The biggest difference between pelvic ultrasound and vaginal ultrasound is the examination method.

Generally, abdominal B-ultrasound and vaginal B-ultrasound are recommended. First of all, they involve the intervention of instruments, which may cause infection. Vaginal B-ultrasound is more sensitive to the uterus, cervix and endometrium. If it is something on the ovaries, pelvic B-ultrasound has greater advantages. At the same time, pelvic B-ultrasound can also check whether there is fluid accumulation in the pelvis. In general, abdominal B-ultrasound can basically detect all problems with the gynecological reproductive system, and the exclusion rate for patients is relatively high.
