How to prevent cesarean section scars?

How to prevent cesarean section scars?

There are two most common ways of childbirth. One is natural childbirth, and the other is cesarean section. Caesarean section requires surgery. If the mother is not properly adjusted, it will leave obvious surgical scars. On the one hand, surgical scars will affect the beauty. On the other hand, if hyperplasia occurs, it will also cause certain harm to health. In order to reduce the surgical scars left by cesarean section, you must pay attention to diet adjustment and promote wound healing.

1. Promote wound healing: New mothers who have undergone cesarean section must have a reasonable diet and balanced nutrition after delivery to facilitate wound healing. The diet of postpartum women is generally very nutritionally sufficient, and they will not lack the necessary amino acids, vitamins, and minerals such as zinc, iron, and calcium. However, they should avoid eating spicy, irritating, and light-sensitive foods such as peppers, onions, garlic, beef, mutton, seafood, celery, coriander, and mangoes to prevent skin irritation and scar hyperplasia.

2. Moderate massage: After the wound heals, massage can be used to soften and reduce the scar. During massage, you can apply essential oils or vitamins to assist. Lavender essential oil, vitamins C and E are more commonly used. They can fade scars, gradually restore skin elasticity, and improve the characteristics of scars.

3. Surgical treatment: Surgical treatment is for patients with large postoperative scars, such as crab feet or centipede shapes, and with scar pain and pulling sensation. Surgical treatment is the most thorough treatment for scars. As long as the operation is standardized and meticulous, and postoperative care is proper, the new scar from the operation can be completely transformed into a thin line. However, scars that can undergo surgery are subject to certain conditions. In addition, surgery causes greater trauma and naturally higher risks. New scars from surgery may be longer, deformed, or even worsen.

4. Laser therapy: For some superficial scars, laser therapy can blur and fade the scars with less trauma. However, laser treatment requires multiple treatments to have a certain effect, the treatment cycle is long, the price is expensive, and it is almost impossible to be effective for depressed scars, and sometimes it can cause pigment changes.

5. Blocked treatment: The injection drugs mainly include 5-Fu, triamcinolone acetonide, bleomycin, etc. This method is more suitable for some scattered small scars, with less trauma and relatively low treatment costs. However, it cannot remove scars, it can only make them smoother and lighter in color. The injection requires a high level of skill and experience from the doctor, and hormones can cause side effects such as acne and endocrine disorders.

6. Topical medications: Topical medications can control postoperative scar hyperplasia. They are easy to use, non-invasive, have few side effects, and have no effect on breastfeeding. But the effects are small and relatively slow, and their preventive effects are greater than their therapeutic effects.

For young expectant mothers, cell tissue growth is more vigorous and they are more reactive to trauma. At the same time, the skin tension is also greater, which makes it more likely for scar tissue to grow and the possibility of scars will be greater. The opposite is true for older expectant mothers. Post-cesarean section care is very important. If the wound is not properly cared for, it is easy for the incision to become infected and the granulation tissue to over-proliferate, forming a protruding and ugly scar.
