What does the pain of ectopic pregnancy feel like?

Ectopic pregnancy is a common ectopic pregnancy that can occur in many pregnant women, so pregnant women must get checked in time. Patients with ectopic pregnancy will have obvious physical symptoms, such as abdominal pain, amenorrhea, vaginal bleeding, and in severe cases, shock. Therefore, patients must discover it in time and then follow the doctor's treatment advice.

The early symptoms of ectopic pregnancy are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

Abdominal pain: The patient has heavy or severe pain in the lower abdomen, a feeling of defecation, and often cold sweat. If the affected area ruptures, the patient will suddenly feel tearing pain in one side of the lower abdomen, accompanied by symptoms of nausea and vomiting.

Amenorrhea: The early symptoms of ectopic pregnancy can easily be confused with normal early pregnancy reactions. If a pregnant woman experiences amenorrhea and early pregnancy reactions within a short period of time, and sometimes also has lower abdominal pain on one side, and examination reveals that the fallopian tube is normal and enlarged, ectopic pregnancy should be suspected.

Vaginal bleeding: Patients with ectopic pregnancy may experience vaginal bleeding symptoms. It should be noted that ectopic pregnancy bleeding is irregular vaginal bleeding that occurs after the death of the embryo. It is dark brown in color and small in amount, generally not exceeding the amount of menstruation. Bleeding is often accompanied by the discharge of decidual tubular or decidual fragments. When the lesion is eliminated, the bleeding may stop completely. The bleeding during menstruation is discharged without decidual tissue.

Syncope and shock: Many patients may suffer from decreased blood volume or severe abdominal pain due to acute intra-abdominal bleeding. Mild cases may experience syncope, while severe cases may suffer from shock, which is life-threatening.

Other symptoms: Patients with ectopic pregnancy may also experience symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and frequent urination. Some patients may go into shock due to heavy bleeding, becoming pale and having low blood pressure.

What are the symptoms of ectopic pregnancy? Ectopic pregnancy is divided into different types according to the different locations where the fertilized egg is implanted outside the uterine cavity: fallopian tube pregnancy, ovarian pregnancy, abdominal pregnancy, broad ligament pregnancy, and cervical pregnancy. Different types of ectopic pregnancy also correspond to different symptoms.

Symptoms of different types of ectopic pregnancy :

Tubal pregnancy: Tubal pregnancy accounts for about 95% of ectopic pregnancies, among which ampulla pregnancy is the most common, accounting for about 78%, followed by isthmus and fimbria pregnancy, and interstitial pregnancy is less common. The typical symptoms of tubal pregnancy are abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding after menstruation. The patient may also have an abdominal mass or even fainting and shock.

Ovarian pregnancy: Ovarian pregnancy refers to the implantation and development of the fertilized egg in the ovary, with an incidence rate of 1:7000-1:50000. The clinical manifestations of ovarian pregnancy are very similar to those of fallopian tube pregnancy, with the main symptoms being amenorrhea, abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding.

Abdominal pregnancy: Abdominal pregnancy refers to the location of the embryo or fetus in the abdominal cavity outside the fallopian tubes, ovaries and broad ligaments. Patients experience amenorrhea and early pregnancy reactions, and most have symptoms of unexplained anemia in early pregnancy, accompanied by abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. Then the vaginal bleeding stops and the abdomen gradually enlarges. Pregnant women often feel abdominal pain during fetal movement, and the symptoms gradually worsen as the fetus grows.
