How to maintain oral hygiene during pregnancy

They eat more frequently, love snacks and prefer sweet and sour foods, and often neglect oral hygiene care. ⑵ Do not smoke or drink, and avoid passive smoking: Smoking, drinking and passive smoking during pregnancy can easily lead to fetal malformations, such as cleft lip and palate. Therefore, pregnant women should not only refrain from smoking and drinking, but also avoid passive smoking.

5. Develop good eating habits and proper diet

⑴ Pregnant women should take in adequate nutrition, including protein, various vitamins (especially vitamins A and D) and necessary trace elements to facilitate the development of the fetus, the formation and calcification of bones and teeth.

⑵ Avoid excessive intake of acidic foods as this may cause dentin sensitivity.

⑶ Balance the diet structure, choose foods that are good for health and non-caries-causing, eat less sweets and reduce snacks

To maintain oral hygiene for pregnant women, you need to start from daily life and make adjustments to your eating habits. Of course, you should not brush your teeth too much to maintain oral hygiene, because pregnant mothers are prone to calcium deficiency, and excessive brushing can easily damage their teeth. Once oral problems are discovered, you should go to the hospital for examination in time and receive treatment and rehabilitation under the guidance of a professional physician.
